Open Call For Nominations

The USDA Forest Service Urban and Community Forestry Program is currently accepting nominations/applications for non-Forest Service positions, listed below, on the National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council (The Council).

Forestry Advisory Council Establishment:

The National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council is in accordance to Section 9 of the Cooperative Forestry Assistance Act, as amended by Title XII, Section 1219 of Public Law No. 101-624 (Act) (16 U.S.C. 2105g), and the Federal Advisory Committee Act (5 U.S.C. App. 2) (FACA).

FORESTRY ADVISORY COUNCIL — ESTABLISHMENT AND PURPOSE:
The Secretary shall establish a National Urban and Community Forestry Advisory Council for the purpose of—

(A) developing a national urban and community forestry action plan;
(B) evaluating the implementation of that plan; and
(C) developing criteria for, and submitting recommendations with respect to, the urban and community forestry challenge cost-share program.

The Council serves in an advisory capacity to the Secretary of Agriculture and the Forest Service’s Urban and Community Forestry Program and related natural resources. For additional information about the NUCFAC Council, click here

Note: When applying for a national non-profit organization, academic institution, or society represented position, a Letter of Support is required from the leadership of the non-profit, academic, or society organization you will be representing.
